Most universities (in the UK) would not admit an international HND holder directly into a master’s degree. In rare cases, they may ask you to enrol on a Postgraduate Certificate course in the first instance. You can find more information here on our blog: https://forum.studyoverseas.net/uk-masters-degree-course-with-your-nigerian-hnd/
However, most universities will require you to complete a pre-masters degree at their ‘study centre’ for international students including students from Nigeria. Some examples of study centres where you can complete a pre-masters are:
Lancaster University: https://www.lancasterisc.com/
Kingston University: https://www.kingstonisc.com/programmes/pre-masters
University of Sheffield: https://usic.sheffield.ac.uk/programmes/pre-masters
Sussex University: https://isc.sussex.ac.uk/our-courses/pre-mastersLet us know if you have any questions..

Hello Aran J, you can apply to study in the UK from Port Harcourt assuming you are a Nigerian. You will need to first meet all the conditions of entry for a course including payment of a deposit (if necessary) and course acceptance in the university. You will be sent a Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS) once you are accepted by the university or college. You will need the CAS document to apply for a student visa.
You may be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if you are planning to do a masters degree for example. You can find these scholarships on our website.

Administrator6 August 2021 at 10:22 am in reply to: HND holder with biology backgroundYou can apply for a top-up course that will award you with an undergraduate degree. These are ‘Top-up’ courses that can either be one year or two years long, depending on how closely aligned your HND is to the course you intend to do. Not all universities offer top-up courses but some do. To answer your question, yes it is possible to gain a degree in microbiology with an HND in biological science. You can reply to this thread if you have further questions or reach out to us directly at [email protected] for a private discussion.
